So, as with most people, at the end of the year I indulged in too much food so now it’s January it’s time to try to be healthy!
It’s been going ok, except sometimes a girl (or guy) just NEEDS chocolate, right?!
So I decided to experiment with some extremely simple but healthier options for those moments of weakness!
This is literally the easiest recipe ever, and they taste SO YUMMY!
Dark chocolate (I used about 40g but it really depends how many snacks you want to make)
Raisins (About a handful)
Peanut Butter (A dessert spoonful)
Almond Milk (Very small amount just to make it easier to mix but can be replaced with another type of milk or water.)
Melt the dark chocolate.
Stir in the peanut butter until it’s smooth.
Add the raisins and stir.
Put into cake cases or just make into small balls/blobs on a dish, and refrigerate!
Health benefits of the ingredients:
Dark Chocolate is full of nutrients such as fibre, iron, magnesium, copper and manganese, along with powerful antioxidants, and is good for the skin, brain, cholesterol levels, blood, and heart!
Peanut butter is a high source of protein, and along with making you feel full and boosting energy, it also contains many other nutrients such as potassium, fiber, magnesium and vitamins E and B6! It’s also good for your cholesterol, helps fight diabetes, and enhances your brain health.
Oats are loaded with important minerals, vitamins and antioxidants such as manganese, phosphorus, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc, folate, and vitamins B1 and B2! They also help with cholesterol and weight loss, along with contributing to healthy blood sugar levels.
Raisins have a long list of health benefits (too long to mention them all)! Nutrients include iron, potassium, and vitamins B1, B2 and B6. They promote good heart health, bowel health, and eye health, and help control diabetes and anemia, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg!
I hope you enjoy these delicious nuggets of guilt-free goodness as much as I do!
